Hawaiian Beaches Water Company operates a 1,400-connection public water system in a rural Big Island subdivision. We are a small, hands-on team responsible for maintaining essential infrastructure that keeps our community functioning.
This is an entry-level field position with advancement potential into Distribution Systems Operator certification (HRWA apprenticeship available). You will assist with repairs, meter reading, installations, and general maintenance of underground water infrastructure. Work schedule is primarily 8 AM-4 PM, Monday-Friday, with occasional emergency support.

Key Responsibilities
- Read water meters using a handheld device
- Assist with underground main and lateral repairs
- Install and repair meters and meter boxes
- Dig trenches and perform manual labor
- Operate jackhammers, saws, and power tools
- Set up traffic control zones
- Maintain vehicles and equipment
- Communicate respectfully with customers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Hawaii driver's license (insurable)
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor
- Ability to lift 80-100 lbs
- Reliable attendance and strong initiative
- Willingness to pursue Grade I certification
Pay & Benefits
- Full-time, W-2 Employment
- Pay: $16 to $20 per hour, based on experience
